Adelaide entrepreneur and now winemaker, Caj Amadio, has always had wine in his blood, given his Italian connection. He saw the potential of the Adelaide Hills for winemaking, and was the first, in 1985, to establish vineyards at Gumeracha. The Chain of Ponds Winery has won a number of awards for their impressive wines since their first vintage in 1993. On offer they have a crisp Riesling, an oak driven Semillon, a very intense Chardonnay and an opulent Pinot Noir and a ripe, balanced Cabernet Sauvignon.
