Four days and three nights in the hues of purple haze descending upon these magnificent ancient mountain ranges (approx. 400 kilometres north of Adelaide and you will begin to understand why the land means so much to the Aboriginal people in their Dreaming.

Friday
After a fully cooked breakfast depart the Hyatt Regency Adelaide by chauffeur driven for the Adelaide domestic airport. Departing Adelaide, your twin-engined, all weather aircraft will fly over historical stock routes and grazing land till descent into an outback land strip, where our friendly staff will greet and transfer you to your twin share accommodation at the Wilpena Pound Resort. A short walk before will help you relax and soak in the spirit of this timeless land. Questions about the region’s people, flora and fauna will be answered over a bush setting gourmet BBQ or a delicious dinner in the resort restaurant.

Saturday
A hearty country breakfast at the resort will get you started for a big day as you venture further into Flinders Ranges National Park along the Brachina Gorge and Bunyeroo Discovery Trail. Choose between lunch in the gorges or return for a packed picnic lunch and walk into Wilpena Pound (a gigantic crater-shaped bowl of craggy ranges) or a relaxed lunch at the resort. Take some time for yourself to explore around the resort before dinner in the restaurant.

Sunday
After breakfast today, journey to Arkaba Station and traverse the ridgetops neighboring the Elder Ranges on your 'Top of the Mountain' spectacular tour. Enjoy a BBQ luncheon (subject to prevailing fire ban restrictions) with the possibility of meeting some locals along the route including kangaroos and euros (another species of kangaroo). Return to Arkaba Woolshed for afternoon tea and a chance to get acquainted with the horse you will be touring with this afternoon, complete with local Aboriginal guide (extra cost). Alternatively, you may wish to take a relaxed walk along Arkaba Creek. Journey back to Wilpena Pound Resort to freshen-up before dinner at the resort.

Monday
Breakfast at the resort before your transfer to the outback landing strip and return flight to Adelaide. Arrive rejuvenated and refreshed from your 'Breakaway'.

Inclusions: transfers to and from Adelaide airport, return airfares between Adelaide and the Flinders Ranges, 3 nights twin share accommodation at the Wilpena Pound Resort, all meals (some meals include quality Australian wine), all National Park admission and all touring as listed in modern air-conditioned vehicles with experienced local guides.
